MENORCA

Menorca is the second largest of the Balearic Islands. Its northern coast has many capes and is deeply indented with beautiful inlets such as the bays of La Albufera, Addaya, and Fornells. The south cost is more regular and has long stretches of cliffs. Minorca's prehistoric remains date from the middle of the 2nd millennium BC include talayots and taulas, both structures of unknown purpose. Agriculture is specially productive. The farming system is that of peasant proprietorship, and the domestic economy is supplemented by fishing. The manufacture of leather shoes is also important. Minorca has many fine beaches and landscapes.
